Meet Dr. Bart McFarland

A Bourbon County native, Dr. Bart MacFarland earned his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Eastern Kentucky University. Then, he completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 1987.

During his final year of dental school, Dr. McFarland invented and patented a protective sleeve needle designed to reduce accidental needle sticks. The device is used in his office, as well as in practices across the U.S. and abroad, and is undergoing testing for use in the U.S. military.

Dr. McFarland serves as the only CEREC® trainer in Kentucky for Patterson Dental and is also a trainer for GALILEOS, a CT-based system for implant placement. He holds a mastership from the International Congress of Oral Conscious Sedation and is an active member of several professional organizations.

He opened his private practice in Paris, KY, after graduating, where he continues to provide thoughtful, state-of-the-art care. Outside the office, he enjoys life with his wife Pam, a dental hygienist, and their two children, Houston and Hagan.
